Kelsey's Fall Concert

Kelsey's Honors chorus class gave a concert in conjuction with Lufkin Middle School on Monday the 16th of October. I was too far back to get many pictures (all you can see are glowing eyes and the kids look like zombies!) but I did get this one as she was walking up to the podium:

One of the songs that the intermediate chorus sang was "Turn Around"...a favorite of mine since I was about 9 years old. They used to use that song on a Kodak commercial that typcially ran during "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" and I have always remembered it. It still brings a tear to my eye especially as I now have a "young girl going out of the door".

Turn Around
(Malvina Reynolds, Harry Belafonte & Allen Greene)

Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Where are you goin' my baby my own?
Turn around and you're two
Turn around and you're four
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out of the door

[First Chorus:]
Turn around
Turn around
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out of the door

Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Little Dirndles and petticoats, where have you gone?
Turn around and you're tiny
Turn around and you're grown
Turn around and you're a young wife
With babes of your own

[Second Chorus:]
Turn around
Turn around
Turn around and you're a young wife
With babes of your own
